VizBrin Academy - Peter Schroeder
Introduction:
A lasting love for music begins with more than just lessons—it grows when music becomes a meaningful part of a child’s life. Students thrive when they enjoy learning, feel encouraged, and are supported with clear structure and purpose. With the right guidance, piano study builds discipline, confidence, creativity, and skills that benefit children at every stage of development.
With extensive experience in music education, performance, and production, I provide clear, supportive instruction that helps students progress while keeping learning enjoyable and motivating. My background across multiple areas of the music industry allows me to guide students thoughtfully—whether they are learning for personal enrichment, academic development, or future professional opportunities.
Simply share your child’s age, experience level, and goals, and I will create a clear, encouraging path to help them grow, succeed, and enjoy their musical journey.

Experience:
Your child will learn piano in a way that’s engaging, relevant, and motivating.
With over 25 years of teaching and performance experience, I help students build strong musical foundations while learning the styles they actually love—Pop, Jazz, Classical, Latin, Indie, Worship, and more.
I’ve taught private and group music lessons on Vancouver’s North Shore since 2006, using a contemporary (non-traditional) approach that keeps students inspired and progressing. Lessons are tailored to each child’s interests and goals, encouraging not only piano skills, but also confidence, creativity, and musical independence. Students are welcome to explore singing, songwriting, and learning to accompany themselves on piano (and guitar, if desired).
My professional performance background with top Canadian and international artists brings real-world musical depth into every lesson—while keeping instruction supportive, structured, and age-appropriate.
If you’re looking for a piano teacher who helps your child enjoy music, stay motivated, and grow with confidence, I’d be happy to guide their journey.

Education Summary:
Your child will learn from a teacher with deep, well-rounded musical training and decades of real-world experience.
I began private piano instruction at age five and pursued extensive formal education in piano performance, music pedagogy, and sound engineering, including studies through the Royal Conservatory of Music. My background spans classical foundations, contemporary styles, and child-centered music education.
I have taught children and youth for over 25 years, including specialized early-childhood programs such as Music for Young Children, Kindermusik, and Bumble Bee Music. I am also trained in vocal instruction, helping students develop healthy singing skills and confidently accompany themselves on piano.
Beyond teaching, I have performed internationally across North America, Europe, and the Caribbean, and I continue ongoing professional development in songwriting, orchestration, music licensing, and child development. My experience as a Film & Television Agent further informs how musical skills can translate into real opportunities as students grow.
Parents can expect structured, encouraging lessons grounded in strong musical fundamentals, creativity, and age-appropriate motivation—designed to help students grow in skill, confidence, and love for music.

Explination:
Your child will receive thoughtful, structured instruction tailored to both their needs and your goals as a parent.
I use proven teaching methods and adaptable learning styles to help students progress confidently, combining strong musical fundamentals with performance skills and age-appropriate music theory.
I invest personally in each student, building a supportive mentor relationship that helps develop not only musical ability, but also confidence, focus, independence, listening skills, and positive attitude. Just as importantly, I prioritize communication with parents—aligning lessons with your values, expectations, and long-term goals for your child.
Lessons are reliable, well-prepared, and encouraging. When possible, I organize and host recitals that give students the invaluable experience of performing on a professional stage, helping them build confidence and a lifelong connection to music.
For students who wish to go further, I also offer guidance in recording, stage performance, and creative development—supporting young musicians as they grow in skill, self-expression, and confidence.
The goal is simple: to help your child enjoy music, grow as a person, and carry these skills for life.
